“Disease ‘X’” sounds like something from a Sci-Fi novel or bad movie. But, now, we know it’s a real thing. And maybe it’s something to keep in the back of your minds. Tim Wyatt ran a short article on this new and nefarious potential epidemic for The Mirror.

The World Health Organization has added the largely unknown pathogen to its list of potential epidemic or pandemic killers. There it joins names you may know: Ebola, SARS, Zika, etc. But very little is known about X. That’s the scarier part. Says the WHO: “Disease X represents the knowledge that a serious international epidemic could be caused by a pathogen currently unknown to cause human disease.” Known or unknown, this is just another good reason to keep up the general medical and pandemic preps.
